Ideas often move from enthusiasm to delivery through disconnected documents, meetings and decisions. Early assumptions disappear, validation is separated from planning, and teams reach launch without a shared record of what was confirmed, what remains uncertain and why the project was allowed to continue.

The Better Business Project creates one continuous path from the first idea to a functioning product or service. Each phase combines documentation, evidence, AI review and an explicit decision before the project moves forward.

• Idea — describe the idea, the problem, audience, value, belief and initial risks.
• Discovery — validate that the problem exists, the solution is viable, someone will pay and the important assumptions have evidence.
• Planning — define goals, milestones, resources, budget, go-to-market, revenue and the risks that could affect execution.
• MVP Launch — define the first version, prepare the test, present the concept, collect feedback and document the first reactions.
• Product/Service Delivery — plan delivery, record design and partner decisions, follow sales and compare actual results with the plan.

Every phase has a focused checklist for the information needed at that point. Write the documentation yourself or ask AI to prepare a draft from the project scope, purpose, existing phase notes and connected evidence. The result stays editable, so the team remains responsible for the final record.

Evidence makes the phase review more than an opinion. Each phase shows the relevant Upgraded.today tools and lets you connect the exact initiatives that support it — such as Problem Tracker and Chances in Idea, Survey and Partner Assessment in Discovery, or Task Tracker, Requirements and Information Flow in Planning.

The project reads the observations, responses, decisions and findings in those initiatives. Up to twelve unique initiatives can be connected across the project, and the Initiatives overview stays grouped by phase so you can see which evidence supports each stage.

Run an AI readiness review when the phase documentation and evidence are ready. The review separates what is confirmed from the gaps, risks and recommendations that still need attention, and gives a readiness assessment tied to the actual material in the project.

Use the phase gate to record a deliberate decision: proceed, adjust or stop. A proceed decision opens the next phase; adjust or stop preserves the reasoning without pretending the project is ready to advance. Completed phases can be reopened when new evidence changes the picture.

The deep analysis reads every connected source across all five phases. It identifies general patterns, patterns in teams and individuals, practical improvements, expected impact and prioritised next steps — all judged against the scope and purpose you defined in Setup.

Then keep investigating in plain text: which assumptions remain unsupported before MVP launch, where does the delivery plan conflict with the evidence from Discovery, or which risks appear across several connected initiatives? Answers use the project documentation and linked evidence, and say plainly when the available material cannot support a conclusion.
